The kiku (chrysanthemum) is an iconic piece of imagery borrowed from tattoo culture. Being my first ever metalworking project, I wanted to explore texture, materiality and form, drawing on the juxtaposition between working on skin, supple and fragile, and steel, shiny and cold, but both pliable human in their own ways.
